Moderne Archive + Anna Weiss
Hi, I’m Anna.
I’ve spent more than twenty years helping people create homes filled with character, history, and meaning. I founded MoModerne in 2002, beginning as a small online business focused on sourcing and selling vintage furnishings, art, and collected objects. What started as a passion for beautiful, well-made pieces grew into a career built around design, storytelling, and helping people connect with their homes in a meaningful way.
Today, I own Moderne Archive, a curated retail shop in St. Louis dedicated to timeless furnishings, vintage finds, artisan-made pieces, and thoughtful design. The shop reflects what I’ve always loved most: blending old and new, celebrating craftsmanship, and helping clients discover pieces that feel personal rather than disposable.
Alongside the retail business, I spent years building and operating one of the region’s most recognized estate sale companies. Through thousands of home visits, collections, and client relationships, I developed a deep appreciation for the stories behind the objects we live with and the transitions that often accompany them.
My educational background is in Psychology from Washington University in St. Louis, and that perspective continues to shape how I work today. Estate settlements, downsizing, relocation, and major life changes are rarely just logistical challenges, they are emotional ones as well. Understanding people, listening carefully, and creating a sense of trust are as important to me as pricing, merchandising, and project management.
Whether I’m helping a family navigate an estate, assisting a client preparing for a move, curating inventory for the shop, or sourcing the perfect piece for a home, my approach remains the same: thoughtful, honest, organized, and deeply personal.
Moderne Archive was created as a place where these worlds come together—a design shop, a source for distinctive furnishings and objects, and a resource for people moving through life’s transitions. My goal is to make the process feel less overwhelming and more intentional, while ensuring the stories and treasures from one chapter can find purpose in the next.
At the heart of everything I do is a simple belief: the best homes are collected over time, filled with pieces that have meaning, history, and a story worth telling.
